Dear journal,

By any chance did I tell you that I will be meeting President Taylor next Monday the sixth? I will be proposing a strike against the mills. He told me that each ticket will be $1.00 each and that is about one weeks pay. Today, I met a new girl named Sarah and she was also born in Derry, New Hampshire as well. She looked like she was 25 years old and I am 28 years. I heard a girl from my boarding house say that she didn’t believe in god. I have to go now.

Who am I?

John Amory Lowell, mill management

Abigail Elston, citizen of Lowell

Eliza Adams, mill worker
