Dear Journal,

This morning was very busy. I ate a delicious meal which got me in a merry mood. I went to Church and father sang a hymn. After church I went to work. We must be at the mill or else we would be docked from our pay. When I get there you can see my loom because it’s the first one near the door. Our overseer Mr. Lord watches you like an eagle, he always is funny about it though. Sara and Susan my friends are right next to me. They chit chat and things. Once Sara got her hair caught in the loom only since the looms make cloth it braided her hair! It was, she said, the best braid she had ever seen. It was kind of funny. Though a normal day may seem normal, there’s always something to surprise you!

Who Am I?

Lydia Collins- a boarding house keeper

Sarah Bagley- A protester of the mills [a worker]
