Dear Journal,
Twus yesterday I scheduled a meeting with Reverend Edson, for next Thursday the twenty-seven. It is on the issue of slavery in the western territories. I think we should abolish slavery. It is under the United States Constitution that all men are created equal. The African Americans are not property, they are human beings like you and me. Henry David Thureau will be, he is an abolitionist too. Twus this morning when I awoke from my sleep I heard a knock at my front door, It was MR. And Mrs. John Aiken, they are abolitionists too. Also with them was Maria Currier who is a mill worker and abolitionist too. I know the Aikens because, I discussed the of slavery in the western territories over lunch last week. I know Maria Currier, because we go to the same church. What they said was that " We will be at the meeting with reverend Edson on Thursday the twenty-seventh. One other person I have heard of is Daniel Webster who wants to abolish slavery but is afraid that some the United States will separate from the rest of the country. If they abolish slavery many African Americans will be set free.
Who Am I?
John Aiken, Agent for Lowell mills
