I’m John Greenleaf Whittier, I was born near Haverhill Massachusetts in 1807. I went to school when I was young, but I did not attend college. I was the son of two poor Massachusetts farmers. I was an abolitionist, a newspaper editor, and a famous poet. I died in 1892.
