Yes, I am Sarah Bagely. My life start out like this:
I was born September 6, 1806. My father William, my mother Ortensa, and my three sisters Ursala, Lydia, and Fanny lived on a farm in Candia, New Hampshire.
I came to Lowell to pay off the family debts. Lowell has been a neat experience for me but I have a bad reputation here. I believe that the working conditions are pitiful and the meals are so hurried you barely have time to eat. There are many other things that I complained about, like our pay not being enough and our lack of time to attend classes and lectures. I worked at the Hamilton Mills for six and a half years.
