Dear Journal,

This morning I woke up at the boarding house. I got on working clothes, a calico dress with flowers on it and a blue bonnet. I wash my clothes by putting them in a tub bowl, and then I hang them on a string. It is hanging across from the boarding house. I always wear a dress with flowers on it and a blue bonnet. I can smell the delicious smelling oatmeal. With the other girls we gather all of the plates, silverware, and cups. Our housekeeper is always kind and friendly.

The bells are always ringing it seems , because the first bell goes off at 5;00. The second bell goes off at 6;00. The third bell goes off at 6;50, and the evening bell goes off at 7;00. These bells go off in the morning, afternoon, and the evening. They tell us when to get up, when to eat, when to go to work, and when to go to bed. They go on forever.
