Admission
Thank you for your interest in Berwick. Founded in 1791 and guided by our mission of "promoting virtue and useful knowledge," Berwick serves students in grades Pre-K-to-12.

Berwick takes pride in knowing that our school is more than a campus; it’s a community. Berwick is an inclusive and diverse community, where talents are developed, new passions discovered, and friendships forged. At Berwick, we seek students who will both contribute to and benefit from this community – students who are eager to explore the world around them and who are committed to the hard work such exploration entails.

Located in South Berwick, Maine, the Academy draws students from over 60 communities throughout southern Maine, the seacoast of New Hampshire, and northeastern Massachusetts. Eight bus routes are offered, picking up our students right in their own communities and delivering them safely to the Hilltop each day.
"A school community where it is cool to be smart, cool to try, and cool to do well."
The best way to learn about Berwick is by seeing our school in action. I invite you to discover more about Berwick by contacting the Office of Admission to set up a visit or by attending one of our informational events. We look forward to getting to know you and for you to get to know us as a school.

Berwick's entire admission team is committed to helping families in all phases of the admission process, so please do not hestiate to contact us with any quesitons or to let us know how we can be of help and support to your family.

All the Best,

Serving Maine, The Seacoast of New Hampshire, and the North Shore of Massachusetts

Berwick Academy is Maine's oldest, independent Pre-K through Post Graduate private school. Our community is dynamic, offering challenging academics, competitive athletics, and creative arts programs. Members of the community operate within a context of caring and respect as we pursue our quest for "useful knowledge" as "one school with three divisions." Students and faculty are encouraged to expand their horizons by balancing academics with athletic, dramatic, and musical options.
