Dear Berwick Community,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Berwick Academy Advancement Office website. There are many organizations and causes that are deserving of your financial support, so why consider investing in Berwick Academy?
Berwick's tradition of philanthropy began when the Chadbourne family created a land grant to establish the Academy in 1791. In fact, as you walk into 1791 House, you can see a picture of John Hancock signing the charter for Berwick Academy in 1791. We have a rich and storied history as Maine's oldest school and the 24th oldest in the nation. Today, Berwick is fortunate to have a beautiful campus consisting of over 80 acres and an investment portfolio valued at approximately $18million.
Like all independent schools, Berwick relies on philanthropic investments from alumni, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to fullfill our mission of promoting "Virtue and useful knowledge" to talented students across the Seacoast. Our exceptional student body, successful alumni, and dedicated faculty flourish as a result of your commitment to the Berwick community. Simply put, your support of Berwick allows a very good school to become a great one with better programs, resources and facilities.
There are many ways to make a difference at Berwick Academy and the Annual Fund remains our number one fundraising priority. I encourage you to learn more about the different
methods of giving, and how your philanthropic investments can impact students, faculty, and programs in powerful ways. To discuss gift opportunities and for answers to any of your questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for visiting our portion of the School's website and for the important role you play in Berwick's success!
Best,
Jedd Whitlock
