The Annual Fund
These monies support the ongoing operations of the academy each year. Like all private institutions tuition alone does not cover the cost to educate our students. Annual Fund contributions enable Berwick to work toward maintaining a socio-economically diverse student body by keeping tuition accessible and providing scholarships. In addition they facilitate our ability to provide faculty with competitive salaries thus allowing Berwick to attract and retain high quality faculty members for all our students.
Berwick Academy is especially challenged at this time due to the interest payments on the bonding for the renovation of the Jeppesen Science Center and the Jackson Library. These monies, which are currently expended from our Endowment Fund, could otherwise be made available in part to support ongoing operations and additional scholarships.
During this school year 2007-2008, we must raise $441,000 from private contributions through personal solicitation and direct mail appeals to alumni, parents, grand parents and friends. These dollars go directly into operations and make up the difference between tuition revenues and the cost to educate each child.
