Scholarship Funds
DEVELOPMENT PAGES ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Twenty-two percent (22%) of 605 students currently enrolled receive financial aid enabling us to maintain an economically diverse student body. In the Upper School( grades 9-12) it is closer to 33%. Our 2007-2008 financial aid budget is currently just over $1.3 million

Endowed Scholarship Funds
Only the income earned from each of these Funds is available to support our financial aid budget. No money is expended from the fund until the Fund reaches a minimum of $50,000
  • Thompson Perpetual Trust—approximately $35,000 is available each year for scholarships for Middle School children. Students must apply. 
  • Ella Estelle Geyer Stonebreaker ’29 Scholarship Fund—a planned gift which will be available upon the death of the daughter and the monies earned will be available for students talented in the arts, music or drama.
  • Marie Donahue Endowed Scholarship Fund monies are annually available to provide financial aid to an incoming South Berwick freshman.
  • Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund valued is available for financial aid to an Upper School student in increments of $500. Alumni related students are given preference.
  • Daniel J. Boisvert Memorial Scholarship Fund established by his classmates in 1999. Monies will be available to a student entering Berwick after the freshman year who is well rounded in academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities once the Fund reaches $50,000.
  • The Barbara Hilton Converse Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by her daughter, Anne Converse Willkomm ’83, to help single parents with send their child to Berwick. Funds are available to students in grades eight through twelve.
  • Dr. Albert L. Kerr Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 2005 and year, will be available to help provide a Berwick education to worthy upper school students with financial need who are descendants of Academy graduates. This Endowment Fund was the inspiration of the Class of 1963.
  • Dr. and Mrs. John T. Kennedy Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to provide an annual scholarship to a student who has been a Maine resident for at least 5 years prior to enrollment at B.A.
  • Beulah M. Miller and F. Riger Miller Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to provide an annual scholarship for a South Berwick student.
