Here to Help Every Step of the Way

The admission process doesn’t have to be stressful and that’s why we’re here – to help you every step of the way. We understand you have lots of questions about WHY. Why independent school? Why Berwick? Is Berwick right for me (or my child)? Can I afford it? Can I afford not to? We have outlined the admission process below and look forward to getting to know you and your family. • Step 1 - LEARN MORE

The first step is to provide us with your contact information so we can keep in touch and help you learn more about Berwick. Be sure to let us know your interests so we can connect you with the right people.
  • Step 2 - VISIT

The best way to get to know us and imagine yourself at Berwick is to visit campus. We encourage you to attend Berwick in Action or visit on another day for an individual tour and interview.
  • Step 3 - APPLY

You can begin your application at any time. The first step is to create an account online.  Once you’re setup you’ll have access to the Applicant Profile and will find a checklist of all the items needed to complete your application. High School applicants may also use the SAO Application. While the requirements vary slightly based on the grade to which you are applying, in general you’ll need recommendations from your teachers, a report from your school, transcript, and interview and/or day visit.
  • Step 4 - TEST

If you are applying to grades 6 – 12, you need to take the SSAT (or ISEE, PSAT, SAT or ACT, depending on your grade). Make sure to register for the SSAT soon. The SSAT will be offered at Berwick on December 8, January 5, and February 2. The Berwick organization code for the SAT is 1624.

  • Step 5 - APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID (if needed)

We appreciate that an independent school education is expensive and believe the value we deliver far exceeds the tuition.  Nonetheless, we understand not all families are in a position to afford our tuition.  We are proud to offer financial aid to 40% of our students and encourage you to apply.
