Middle School Makerspace

Explore, Collaborate, Invent

When students invent, they take ownership of an idea. Middle School is an important time for students to embrace the design process to creatively explore ideas and solve challenging, yet fun, problems.

Rigor, Risk, and Reward

The design process allows students to experience rigor, risk, and reward while being creative and solving problems in a collaborative environment. The Middle School Makerspace at Berwick Academy offers students the opportunity to explore their passions, solve real world problems, and engage with curriculum through hands-on projects. Maker education lends itself to authentic learning experiences that students are invested in and excited about. The maker experience allows students to see concepts in action and supplies opportunities for cross-curricular connections. We are excited to provide a wide range of consumables and digital fabrication tools beside circuitry and programming kits.

Marc Small, Middle School Science

I believe that students will invent, collaborate, and persevere when they are empowered to follow their interests. The Makerspace is a judgment-free zone where students are able to act on their own curiosity and experiment playfully, thus encouraging the pursuit and application of useful knowledge.
