The Mary Z. Schleyer Scholars Program

This Scholarship will award full tuition scholarships for two newly accepted students entering ninth grade – one boy and one girl.
Mary Z. Schleyer’s relationship with the Academy is a long and intimate one. Her three sons attended for a combined total of 26 years. She served on the Board of Trustees for 12 years, actively participating on steering committees, and taking on the important role as its president. Prior to serving on the Board, Ms. Schleyer was president of the Academy’s parent organization. Her years of service and love of the Academy continue, and she leaves her legacy to improve the experience for all students. “We all have a story that brought us to Berwick, and mine is a very simple story. We had a boy who loved words, and we were looking to find a group of students who loved words as much as he did.”
