    Orientation for Pre-K, Kindergarten, and New 1-4 Students and Parents

    This orientation is for all Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students and all new first through fourth grade students. Parents drop their LS student(s) off at their classroom at 8:20 a.m. for their orientation and then come to the Rioux Room for Parents’ Orientation. Later, parents will meet their child(ren) for a snack followed by a 10:30 a.m. departure. Faculty contact: Joel Hawes

    New Parent Dinner

    All new parents are strongly encouraged to attend this fun and informative welcome dinner in the Commons dining hall. Head of School Jim Hamilton will give a presentation about general school life and what to look forward to throughout the school year.     Community Circles & Opening Assembly

    The PK-12 community gathers as one. Musical performances, student speeches, and other activities focus on a common theme. This is an All-School dress-up day. This event originally began as a remembrance of 9/11 and has since evolved into a reflection and celebration of our community. While the three divisions assemble to form three concentric circles, all members of the community pause to engage in a moment of silence while the Fogg bell is rung.

    Grade 6 Community Building

    Students participate in a program in Saco, ME, designed to welcome new students and to celebrate the start of the sixth grade year. “Focus on Adventure” provides students and teachers with opportunities to collaborate on both high and low ropes courses. Faculty contact: Jason Singleton
