    BPC General Meeting/State of the School

    This BPC General Meeting features the State of the School address by Head of School Jim Hamilton. All parents are encouraged to attend to hear about programs and initiatives, campus projects, employee updates, and school financials. Location: Jackson Library HUB.     Parent Yoga

    Yoga for Parents: Join yoga-certified Berwick parent Andrea Bristol for a one-hour yoga session in the Yoga Studio at the Walsh Wellness Center. Classes will be on most Fridays at 2:00pm for $10 (your Berwick account will be charged directly) and no reservations are needed. Some experience is welcome, but not necessary and mats/blocks are available. 

    Yoga helps reduce stress, improve flexibility and can even help you recharge after a busy week so that you can get the most out of your weekend!

    Kindergarten Admission Play Date

    Fall 2019 prospective kindergarten students are invited to join us for an observation day as part of the admissions process. We believe it is important for your child to experience our classroom, and in turn, for our teachers to observe your child and his/her fit with our educational program. While your child attends class, parents have the opportunity to learn more about Berwick Academy and meet with Head of School Jim Hamilton and Lower School Director Joel Hawes.

    Touch Tank Tuesdays

    On select Tuesdays throughout the year, Berwick Academy invites you to visit our Lower School science classroom to explore the touch tank and its sea creatures such as starfish and crabs, and to play in our interactive sandbox. The Lower School parking lot is accessed through the school's main entrance. Bring a friend – we're excited to show you our aquatic friends!

    The Road Beyond Silk: How Merchandise and Missionaries Linked the East and West

    The US Culture and Literacy class will conduct a program about historic ties between China and South Berwick. This presentation of stories and music will be held at the First Baptist Church of South Berwick, 30 Main Street.  Refreshments in the fellowship hall will follow.

    Winter Carnival

    This tradition was revived in 2016 and is an all school event. Classes are dismissed partway through the day for our students to engage in a few hours of mid-winter fun. Activities are weather dependent, but may include skating on a manmade ice rink, snow sculptures, outdoor games, our Acadarod (human dog sled race), and more.

    After-School Faculty Meetings

    Faculty Meetings enable departments and divisions to meet in groups to discuss issues such as teacher evaluation, scope and sequence of curriculum, course selection, etc. This date is an after school time slot, and does not impact the school day. Late buses will run, and LS aftercare, MS studyhall, and Varsity sports will be held. No JV sports.

    BPC Online Auction Begins

    The annual BPC Online Auction is a Berwick community event that raises funds for the BPC operating budget and teacher grant program. Funds are raised through donations from the parents, students, faculty, and staff. Contact: Kristin Bailey

    Community Supper at the Blue Mermaid Island Grill

    Enjoy a great weeknight dinner (that you don’t have to cook) while supporting Berwick Academy at the same time! Round up the kids and join us at the Blue Mermaid for a casual dinner and 10% of the proceeds from your meal will go directly to BPC programs, including the Faculty & Staff Grant Program.

    Berwick in Action

    Prospective parents are invited to our interactive visits one day a month to see Berwick in action. The best way to get to know a community, to understand its culture, the depth of its exciting developmental curriculum is to come by and see a real part of the day.
