Ramsay shines in second shutout in a row

Tyler Gaulin’s penalty shot goal ended up being the game winner in this one

WEST ROXBURY, MA –In a game that was knotted at zero halfway through, the referee’s signal for a penalty shot was just what to doctor ordered, especially with Berwick’s penalty shot specialist lined up at the center dot. Tyler Gaulin (Kingston, NH) came in with a lot of speed and caught the Roxbury goalie off his angle, opting for the shot that clearly beat the goalie low stick. The shot rang off the post, then back off the goalie’s leg, then across the goal line. Minutes later, the Bulldogs were on the man advantage when matching penalties made it a 4-on-3. Connor Derby (Newburyport, MA) patiently worked the puck to Zander Lizotte (Scarborough, ME) who fired it past the screened Roxbury goaltender.

Berwick played steady team defense in the third to hold onto the victory. Alex Ramsay (Yarmouth, ME) turned aside two great Roxbury bids and was the best player on the ice tonight. To cap the night off, Brady Desjardins (Westbrook, ME) pinned a Roxbury defender, then Paddy Condon (South Berwick, ME) hit Tucker Smith (South Berwick, ME) in the slot for a beautiful catch-and-shoot finish. The Bulldogs head into this five day break from December 30th to January 4th having earned six points in their last five games. They look to get everyone healthy and keep things moving in the positive direction in 2018.
