Dexter’s deadly powerplay puts Bulldogs away

DOVER, NH –Facing off with #6 Dexter, the Bulldogs needed one of their best efforts of the year, and it just did not happen. Berwick held Dexter off the board for much of the first but New Jersey Devils draft pick Jack Rathbone made the Dogs pay on their first powerplay of the night with a point shot from the blue line. Dexter earned another powerplay midway through the second and cashed in almost immediately. Berwick was resilient when they had to kill of a five-minute major later on in the second. They killed the entire penalty but gave up a backbreaker with just two minutes remaining in the period to go down 3-0. The Dogs battled in the third and chipped away at the lead, scoring to cut the lead to two with five minutes remaining. Tanner Derby (Newburyport, MA) struck from the hash marks with assists going to Greg Stohrer (Barrington, NH) and Paddy Condon (South Berwick, ME). Dexter put the game away with their fourth goal of the night just thirty seconds later. Berwick looks ahead to St. Mark’s as they head down to Southborough on Friday afternoon.
