St. Pauls

The lacrosse team opened up their 2018 season on a raw, late March afternoon at St. Paul’s. While the game was tightly matched throughout, it was the hosts who pulled away in the final quarter winning 10-5. Behind some extra-terrestrial goaltending, St. Paul’s turned away some great opportunities from our attackmen, particularly Brad Simas, who still managed to put 4 past him. At the other end of field, our long sticks, particularly Rafe Gaughan, Ben Davis, and Ben Joslin, as well as goalie, Greg Stohrer, stood tall and limited damage given some of the opponent’s extended possessions. Congratulations to Ryan, Max, Bailey, Zhong, Gavin, and Crosby, who played their first varsity game, and Jackson jr. who netted a nifty goal in his first game with the team. With some key absences which set us back on the day, Berwick looks to have a full complement of players when we take on Groton at home next Saturday.
