South Berwick, Maine – Berwick Academy is pleased to announce that Jared ‘Lem’ Randall has accepted the position of Head Boys Varsity Ice Hockey coach at Berwick Academy. Randall came to Berwick in the fall of 2018 from Brewster Academy, where he was the Head Boys Varsity Ice Hockey Coach for two years. Before Brewster, Randall was the Head Boys Varsity Ice Hockey Coach at the Northwood School for four years. Randall has been a great addition to our Upper School in his role as a History teacher, Assistant Boys Varsity Ice Hockey coach, and Varsity Golf Coach. In addition to these impressive roles, Randall was also a player at the University of Maine and Manhattanville College. Over the last two years, we have seen Randall develop strong relationships with our students. Randall will replace Jeoff Jarnot, who served as our Head Boys Varsity Ice Hockey coach for the last five seasons and will continue teaching in the Berwick Academy Lower School.

“We have seen the rapport Randall has built with both the ice hockey and golf teams over the past two years. He connects well with our students, both in the classroom and in their athletic environment. In addition, Randall has been a strong faculty contributor to our SALT (Student Athlete Leadership Team) group. We are thrilled to have such a qualified candidate within our program and are excited to see Coach Randall step into this leadership role,” says Rob Quinn, Director of Athletics.

“I’m thankful for this incredible opportunity to lead the Berwick Boys Hockey program. The program has made great progress in the last few years, and I am committed to the continual development and growth of these young athletes not only on the ice but in the classroom and in the community,” says Randall. “Berwick has been a great home for so many local families and I am looking forward to further developing these relationships along the seacoast for years to come.”

“We could not be more excited to have Lem Randall taking over the Berwick Hockey program from Jeoff Jarnot, who has done an excellent job over the past five years. I am particularly excited that we will continue to have a full-time faculty member in this role. At Berwick, we are dedicated to not only helping our student-athletes get to the next level in their particular sport, but we are also focused on the whole student. Randall gets that, and both the players and our school will benefit from his leadership,” says Jim Hamilton, Berwick Academy’s Head of School.
