Berwick 2-5 Governors

Berwick's JV White squad played a tough game against the visiting Governor's Academy team on the turf Friday afternoon, coming away on the short end of a 5-2 final.

Louie Ross opened the scoring midway through the first half on a beautiful drive from just inside the penalty area, but the lead was short-lived.  Govs answered quickly to level, and then posted two more before the intermission.

In the second half the lead widened to 5-1 before an odd penalty call put Drew Cabral on the stripe.  Cabral never misses, so the score was 5-2 in short order.  The Bulldogs played some of their best soccer of the season in the closing minutes but Govs packed in their defense so the score remained unchanged as the final horn sounded.

West Vaillant and Finn Ingwersen shared the goal-tending while Tucker Demers and Jackson Hamilton anchored the center of the defense.  The outside backs were Chase Fendelet, Luke Dorsey, Zach Schadler, and Jamie Simonds.  Oscar Correll, Parker Jenkins, Emilio Jakubek, and Louie Ross manned the midfield, and Ethan Cosker, Liam Eddy, Jake Henry, and Drew Cabral played at striker.
