Bulldogs First Win

The Bulldogs traveled to Hebron Academy for their season opener and came away with a big win under the fading western Maine light on a beautiful pitch.

The Bulldogs struck first and never looked back.  Rose McComiskie (Groveland, MA) scored her first career goal and what would be the game winner with a perfectly placed shot to the bottom corner off a great pass to the flag from Parker Roenick (Exeter, NH) in the 19th minute.  Only 4 minutes later Blake Metcalf (Scarborough, ME) earned her first career goal to increase the Bulldogs lead.  In the 29th minute Chili Dowd (Amesbury, MA) weaves through the Hebron defense down the left flank towards the goal and set up Grace Libby (Standish, ME) for the tap in to make it 3-0 going into the halftime break.

The Bulldogs came out even stronger in the second half.  In the 2nd minute Allie Moore (Berwick, ME) earned her first career goal set up by Leila Beakes (Rollinsford, NH) off a cross from Dowd.  A mere 5 minutes later Chili Dowd got on the board when she one touch roofed a cross from Ginger Friedman (North Hampton, NH).  In the 8th minute Chili set up Sevilla Coffin (Newburyport, MA) for her first career goal, a great shot from outside the 18.  Closing out the scoring and earning the brace was Allie Moore with a great header off a corner kick from Grace Libby.

Cameron Hamilton (South Berwick, ME) and Allie Moore combined for time in net. The Bulldogs will host Gould Academy tomorrow Saturday 9/10 at 1pm for their home opener.  Go Bulldogs!
