Athletics at Berwick

It's a great day to #BABulldog

Berwick Academy is a member of the New England Prep School Athletics Conference (NEPSAC) and compete in the Eastern Independent League (EIL) and in the Holt Conference for Boys Ice Hockey. Our athletic programs offer the opportunity for students of all skill levels to participate while providing elite athletes a level of play and coaching expertise that challenges them to thrive. Our Varsity level teams allow student-athletes to hone their skills and pursue success at the collegiate level and beyond. All Berwick athletes and coaches take pride in representing the School and demonstrate respect for our opponents, officials, coaches, and teammates while honoring the spirit of competition.

Our goal is to promote lifelong fitness, provide opportunities for growth and good sportsmanship, show the benefits of dedication, hard work, and continuous practice, and for students to have fun. With a host of athletic offerings and opportunities available for students of all abilities, Berwick promotes an athletic culture that is equal parts challenging and supportive.

Student-Athlete Leadership Team

The Student-Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) was founded out of a desire for student-athletes to be leaders, both on our campus and among our peer schools, in articulating and modeling respect and integrity in a competitive environment. Along with cultivating a strong sense of school spirit on campus, SALT members educate our community on our standards and created the Creed below.

Athletic Facilities

Berwick Athletic facilities feature several state-of-the art spaces across campus and in the community. The Athletic Center houses a classic wooden gym, a 24,000 square foot multi-purpose field house (with indoor tennis and basketball courts), a professional dance studio, an athletic clinic, and a fitness center. Both home and visiting teams have access to individual locker rooms. Katz Turf Field and our four grass fields serve our soccer and field hockey teams in the fall and our lacrosse and baseball teams in the spring. We have a competitive cross-country course that has hosted multiple NEPSAC races. Tennis uses six newly resurfaced outdoor courts and three indoor courts.

Off the Hilltop, and within a few miles from campus, our hockey teams enjoy home rink status at the Dover Ice Arena, our crew teams row on the beautiful Salmon Falls River, our swim teams practice at the Dover Indoor Pool, and our golf team competes at The Links at Outlook.
