Athletics at Berwick
Athletic and physical education programs afford every student the opportunity to participate while providing a highly competitive experience.
Our program offers the opportunity for students of all skill levels to participate, while providing elite athletes a level of play and coaching expertise that challenges them to continue to excel and achieve their goals in college athletics and beyond. Our Varsity level teams allow student-athletes to hone their skills and pursue success at to the next level. All Berwick athletes and coaches take pride in representing the school’s values by demonstrating respect for our opponents, officials, coaches, and teammates while honoring the spirit of competition.
Our goal is to promote lifelong fitness, provide opportunities for growth and good sportsmanship, to show the benefits of dedication, hard work, and continuous practice, and for students to have fun. With a host of athletic offerings and opportunities available for students of all abilities, Berwick promotes an athletic culture that is equal parts challenging and supportive.
Berwick Athletic facilities feature several state-of-the art spaces across campus and in the community. The Athletic Center houses a classic wooden gym, a 24,000 square foot multi-purpose field house (with indoor tennis and basketball courts), a professional dance studio, an athletic clinic, and a fitness center. Both home and visiting teams have access to individual locker rooms. Our four grass fields and state-of-the-art turf field serve our soccer and field hockey teams in the fall and our lacrosse, baseball, and softball teams in the spring. We have a competitive cross-country course that has hosted multiple NEPSAC races. Tennis players use our six outdoor and three indoor courts.
Off the Hilltop, and within a few miles from campus, our hockey teams enjoy home rink status at the Dover Ice Arena, our crew teams row on the beautiful Salmon Falls River, and our swim teams practice at the Dover Indoor Pool.
The Berwick Parent Community (BPC) and the Links at Outlook invite you to experience the “Scottish Tradition” of golf here in Maine. Architect Brian Silva, "Golf World Magazine's Architect of the Year 1999" designed the layout which makes optimal use of the natural landscape in what was once known as The Outlook Farm. Make no mistake about it, this farm has been totally converted into a Links Style Course like those found across the Atlantic Ocean in Scotland and Ireland. Golfers will enjoy many spectacular and breathtaking views that will captivate them while playing the Par 71/6,500 yard championship course.
The golfer registration package will include greens and cart fees, driving range use, gift bag, raffle tickets, contests, refreshments, and lunch/post golf reception.
This is a modified shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. All Bulldog Package golfers are additionally eligible for all the raffle competitions including the $25,000 Hole in One and $5,000 Putting Contest.
We look forward to you joining us for a fun day of golf and community building at The Links at Outlook Golf Course.
