Lower School


The Lower School Exploration classes are special subject areas of focus offered to students in each grade level throughout a given school week. Art, library, music, physical education, science, technology, and world language (Spanish through grade 3 and Spanish, Mandarin, and Latin in grade 4) support and stretch student learning outside of the traditional homeroom classroom.

    Lower School art incorporates several layers of useful knowledge, including cultural relevance, the creative process, interdisciplinary connections, social and emotional learning, cultural competency, art history, the elements and principles of art and design, and material craftsmanship.

    The Library and Technology (InfoTech) curriculum is based on a stepping stone model with skills being taught, reinforced, and expanded through project-based learning at each grade level.

Berwick Academy

Berwick Academy, situated on an 80-acre campus just over one hour north of Boston, serves 550 students, Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 and Post-Graduates.
