    As summer begins, we’re all excited for longer days, family adventures, and well-deserved relaxation. However, with more free time, it’s natural for kids to gravitate towards screens. At Berwick Academy, we believe in fostering a balanced, mindful approach to technology that helps children thrive during the summer months—and beyond.

    The Wellness team has compiled a helpful “Guide to Summer Screen Time” that encourages families to think of screen time as a garden: some digital activities can help kids grow and learn, while others may act more like weeds, cluttering their environment without real benefit. By setting intentional boundaries and nurturing curiosity, families can make technology work for them, not the other way around.

    Three Students Receive National Recognition at Recycle Regatta

    Three students at Berwick Academy have been nationally recognized for their ingenuity, earning the “Most Creative” award in the Opti Fleet (Grades 3–5) division of the 2025 Recycle Regatta, a national competition hosted by Educational Passages.

    The winning team—Maverick Randall (Grade 5), Sebastian Romero (Grade 4), and Thayer McGann (Grade 5)—designed and built a model sailboat, the S.S. Trashformers, entirely from recycled and repurposed materials. Their entry stood out from submissions across the country for its imaginative design, thoughtful engineering, and environmentally conscious construction

  • Middle School Students Compete at VEX Robotics World Championship

    Six Middle School students from Berwick Academy’s VEX Robotics team, “X-Factor,” traveled to Dallas, Texas to represent their school and region at the VEX Robotics World Championship from May 12–14. The event welcomed nearly 900 middle school teams from 55 countries, creating a global celebration of creativity, innovation, and collaboration in STEM education.
