Archives Mission and Policy Statement

The Berwick Academy Archives exist to collect, preserve, and protect archival materials and documents that promote an understanding of and appreciation for the history, traditions, life, and culture of Berwick Academy. Any document or artifact that helps to illuminate the life and work of Berwick Academy administrators, faculty, staff, and students and contains enduring value is considered archival material.

The scope of the BA archive collection includes, but is not limited to:
Documents
Minutes of committee and board meetings
Public speeches
Photographs
Electronic files
Audio and visual materials
Publications, including programs, newspapers, and yearbooks
Marketing and advertising materials
Artwork related to the school
Architectural and landscape plans
Awards and prizes
Uniforms and costumes
Memorabilia
Access

The Archives is open to the Berwick Academy community from September to June in alignment with the academic school calendar. The archives manager will grant access to the public for research and inspection during designated times and by appointment. Berwick Academy

Berwick Academy, situated on an 80-acre campus just over one hour north of Boston, serves 550 students, Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 and Post-Graduates. Berwick students are from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and several countries.
