On a clear and sunny day, the Bulldogs travelled to Hebron for an away opener to take on the Lumberjacks, coming away with a 4-0 win. The Bulldogs are 1-0-0 on the season and are enthusiastic about a fun and competitive fall ahead.
Setting the tone at the start, Bulldog Carly Shumway ‘29 (Wells, ME) carried the ball up the left side of the field, dribbled past the goalie, shot and scored three minutes into the match.
In the 22nd minute, Shumway shot another one into the net from 25 yards out off a skillful assist from Co- Captain Emma Rich ‘27 (Dover, NH).
In the 50th minute, Shumway cut the ball back to Campbell McKee ‘28 (Brentwood, NH) who cut it back to Co-Captain Tatum Sloper ‘27 (Scarborough, ME) who played Sophia DeSimone ‘28 (Dover, NH) who put the ball in the back of the net.
A minute later, DeSimone shot and tucked in another beautiful goal off an assist from defender Liv Pate ‘27 (Exeter, NH).
With a few minutes on the clock, Goalkeeper Julia Brennan ‘28 (Exeter, NH) ran out of the box and slid to save a shot on a front smother.
The Bulldogs plan to bring the same energy to Covenant Christian Academy for their next match of the season. Go Bulldogs!
