Berwick Academy Swim Team Continues to Shine

The Berwick Academy swim team continues it’s undefeated with a win over Pingree on Friday, January 22. The women’s team started the season with their first win ever against Winsor school on Dec 4. They continued with another win on Dec. 9 against Southfield/Dexter. With two dual meets in a row against Pingree Academy, they held them off both meets with a score of 91-76 on Jan 9 and 95-72 on Jan 22.
 
 
The women’s team was led by Eliana Fleischer ’19 and Emma Whall ’18. Eliana won the 200 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke while Emma Whall won the 50 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle. Emma Twombly ’19 and Chloe Suttie ’20 joined Emma and Eliana for a victory in the 200 Medley Relay. Emma and Eliana were joined by Chloe and Madeleine Green ’19 for another victory in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The 200 Freestyle Relay was won by Sarah Lummus ’21, Samantha Gaudette ’17, Sophie Bravo ’17, and Madeleine Green.
 
The men’s team had an easy victory against Pingree Academy with a score of 139 to 4. They were led by Aaron Fleischer ’17 winning the 200 Freestyle, Thomas Anderson ’16 winning the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke, Gage Anderson ’16 winning the 50 Freestyle, Ethan Garstka ’18 winning the 100 Butterfly, Teddy Vatcher ’17 winning the 100 Freestyle, Drew Macdonald ’16 winning the 500 Freestyle, and Alex Bouvier ’19 winning the 100 Breaststroke.
 
Both teams will face Landmark and Phillips Andover on January 27.
