First Win for Bulldogs

The Bulldogs opened the season at home with a 6-1 win vs Cushing Academy. Rayne Zimmermann (Exeter, NH) opened the scoring with an amazing shot from distance in the 15th minute of the match. Cushing equalized only 5 minutes later off a nice cross. But the Bulldogs bounced back. Abby Reed (Dover, NH) scored what would be the game winning goal in the 22nd minute. In the 34th minute Rayne got her second goal off a great give and go with Aaliyah Farid (Hampton, NH) to put the Bulldogs up 3-1 going into the half. Kelsey Rizzo (Kennebunk, ME) had a big save in the first half which preserved the Bulldog lead. Aaliyah got her second assist of the game in the 44th minute when she found Brayden Reed (Dover, NH) for her first of two goals. Brayden added her second 15 minutes later when Tess Varley (Portsmouth, NH) played the ball in from a corner and Brayden ripped a shot form the top of the 18. Finishing off the scoring was Tia Freund (Newfields, NH) with a great goal at the back post off a cross form Christine Gardella (Haverhill, MA) on the left flank. The Bulldogs finished with a 6-1 win over Cushing with a late chance from Holly Cannon that hit the crossbar with only seconds remaining in the game. The Bulldogs are now 1-0-0 on the season and will hit the road with two games this weekend at Bancroft on Friday 9/15 at 4:45pm in their first EIL match, and then a match on Saturday 9/16 at Holderness.
