Berwick beats Pingree 5-3

The Berwick Academy Women’s Ice Hockey team started their 2008-2009 season out with a successful win over Pingree School.  Down 0-1 in the first period, Captain Helen Cornwell ’09 was able to tie up the game with an assist from Captain Adina Wagner ’09.  When Pingree pulled ahead with another goal in the first period, defenseman Ashley Grenier '09 scored with an assist from new teammate Dori Craig ’14 and Helen Cornwell '09.  With Pingree leading the game 3-2 in the second period, defenseman Anna Wright ’13 scored three goals in a row, two on unassisted breakaways and one from an assist from Ashley Grenier '09.  Berwick had 24 total shots on Pingree, while Pingree managed 40 shots on Berwick’s goalie Lee Tsairis ’10.  Congratulations to Lee for saving 37 shots and congratulations to the Berwick team for their first official win of the season.
