Bulldogs squeak in another win

The Varsity softball team traveled to Beaver County Day School on Wednesday and won 2-0.  Stephanie Staples pitched the first two innings, striking out 1 batter and walking none. Catie Wheeler pitched the next five innings, striking out 10 batters and walking 1, and improved her record to 2-0.  Berwick had 7 hits, scoring once in the first inning and once in the last. Chelsea Vanderlinde, who caught the game, went 2 for 4, with a double and one RBI. Jenna Maddock also went 2 for 4, improving her batting average to an astonishing 700!  In the last inning, Berwick defense prevented a run by making a play at the plate, securing the shut out.

The team travels to Tilton on Friday and hosts Newton Country Day School on Saturday at noon.
