The Bulldogs take down the Lumberjacks, 13-3

Berwick hosted Hebron Academy on Saturday in their final non-league game of the season. After a slow start, Berwick pulled ahead midway through the first half to secured a solid 13-3 victory.
The defense held strong all game, quickly seeing when to slide as Hebron attempted to take advantage of 1 v 1s. All three seniors, Katie Peter, Nathalie Peter and Jamie LaPointe, started each half at low defense and did a great job of being vocal and providing tight coverage. Emma Brin, Georgia Barlow, CC Clapp and Parker Johnson subbed in and maintained a high level of intensity.
After a few mediocre shots and rushed attacks, the Bulldogs settled in and began capitalizing on reliable scoring attempts. Mel Mait led the scoring with three goals, and Bella Eldridge had two. Tilly Burzynski, Tatiana Bradley, Izzy Reis, Aimee Briand, Caroline Hernon and Gabby Wiggin each contributed one goal. Siobhan McDermott and Brooke Downey each notched a goal and an assist. Impressively, ten attackers contributed to the Bulldog scoring.
Goalie Kaitlyn Wurzer made 10 saves, effectively shutting down Hebron from the first whistle. She has been stellar all season.  Emma Hambright also saw time in net at the end of the game.
Berwick hosts league opponent Dana Hall on Wednesday in their final regular season game. Go Bulldogs!
