Swim Team Very Successful at First Home Meet

The Berwick Academy Swim Team had a very successful meet on Saturday. The team hosted Pingree Academy, Bancroft School, Hyde School, and Kents Hill School at UNH Swansey Pool. They won the meet with 302 points and doubled the score of the second place team.

A Berwick Academy swimmer or relay team won every event. The following swimmers were the champions in the individual events: Drew Macdonald in the 200 yard Freestyle and 100 yard Butterfly, Isabel Reis in the 200 yard IM, Emma Whall in the 50 yard Freestyle and 500 yard Freestyle, Gage Anderson in the 100 yard Freestyle, Sophie Bravo in the 100 Yard Backstroke, and Thomas Anderson in the 100 yard Breaststroke. The victorious relay teams were made up of Aaron Fleischer, Ethan Gartska, Drew Macdonald, and Thomas Anderson in the 200 yard Medley Relay; Hans Morris, Jack McCraven, Gage Anderson, and Thomas Anderson in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay; and Teddy Vatcher, Aaron Fleischer, Thomas Anderson, and Drew Macdonald in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay. 
 
The two notable swims were a come-from-behind finish in the 200 Free Relay by Alexa Mocklis immediately after she finshed the 500 Freestyle and very strong performance by the 400 Free Relay made up of Ainsley Clapp, Samantha Gaudette, Sarah Ewart and Abby Donaghue. All four swimmers swam best times at the end of the meet and were able to beat the competitor in the heat. 
 
The swim team competes next against Phillips Exeter and Hyde School at Phillips Exeter Academy on January 14.
