  • Metalsmithing | Grades 6+ | June 12-16 & July 10-14

    The resin is a medium with a wide range of color possibilities and tons of creative applications. The studio metalwork includes sawing, hammering, stamping, filing, and sanding. Basic construction methods and workshop safety will also be covered. Campers will make pendants, earrings, keychains, and magnets incorporating bottle caps, paint, toy parts, and other found objects. You will be amazed at what you can create with these simple materials! No prior jewelry/metalsmithing experience is required!

  • Wheel Throwing Ceramics | Grades 6+ | June 12-16

  • Adventures in Photography | Grades 6-9 | June 20-23 & July 31-Aug. 4

    Don’t miss this week of photo adventures! Each day we’ll travel to one or more destinations to explore and photograph a variety of subjects, from woods and seacoast to small towns and cities. Each day will have themes and objectives that push you to expand your style and compositional skills. You’ll experiment with the manual photography settings on your phones and on personal digital cameras. You’ll leave with a handful of printed photographs and an option to frame your best work. Please note that this program uses Berwick Academy vehicles daily and will travel rain or shine. Students should bring: Phone/digital camera, lots of snacks, lunch, water bottle, comfortable shoes (as we’ll be walking all day), and rain jackets (if necessary).

  • FC Academy Filmmaking Camp | Grades 5-9 | June 26-30

    At this camp, youth can bring their creative ideas to fruition in a fun, collaborative, and exciting environment. Campers will learn skills in scriptwriting, storyboard sketching, character development, improvisation, and camera skills. Together, the group will write, shoot, and edit a film in a genre of their choosing. Youth will learn to edit their films using professional editing software like Adobe Premiere. All final projects are eligible for submission to the Boston International Kids Film Festival in November 2023. There will be a screening on Friday afternoon for friends and family!

  • Horsemanship Camp at Great Heights Stable | Grades 3-8 | Multiple Weeks

    Spend a week learning about horses—from safe handling skills, leading, and grooming to playing, caring for, and training. This is a hands-on, highly engaging activity-based camp that focuses on horses’ senses and behavior. Every day we will do tons of playing with the horses, pony, and donkeys as we learn how to enrich their lives and ensure their health. Campers wear close-toed shoes, long pants/leggings, and any other appropriate layers to accommodate the different weather and bugs we get on a Maine farm. Drop off and pick up is at Great Heights Stable in Berwick. This camp will be instructed by the Great Heights Stable staff and is available for Grades 3-8.

    Have you always wanted to become a detective and find yourself watching every episode of CSI? Now is your chance to do everything from fingerprinting to assessing the crime scene. You will get the tools to put the clues together. Bring your sharp mind, intuition, and keen observation skills. If your child is also registered for the morning basketball camp, they can sign up for the lunch break, and then we will transport them in a Berwick Academy vehicle to the South Berwick police station. Parents/Guardians will need to pick them up from the police station at the end of the program.

  • Chinese Language and Culture Immersion Camp | Grades 6-9 | July 31-Aug 4

    This camp will be focusing on learning five basic topics about the Chinese language and culture. Each camper will be learning how to greet, count, name colors, name food materials, and talk about sports in Mandarin. Fun activities include Chinese calligraphy, brush painting, making dumplings, paper cutting, and making kites. By the end of the week, you will feel like you just had a short trip to China!

  • Outlook Summer Golf Academy | Grades 2-12 | June 5-8 & June 12-15

    Summer camps are designed to pique the interest of potential new golfers and offer experienced golfers the instruction they need to improve. Half-day campers will have the opportunity to play a few holes on the golf course to practice their skills. Full day camp is a wonderful way for our campers to enjoy a comprehensive day of golf instruction and lunch will be provided. Outlook will provide all equipment for participants. Coach Michael Corriveau is certified as a USGTF and WGTF teaching professional. He has a great deal of experience coaching local high school players, as well as competitive junior players. Drop off/pick up will be at Outlook.

    What Level Of Golf Do I Choose For My Camper?
    The half- and full-day Golf Academy is intended for golfers who have had some previous golf instruction (including from a parent/adult) and/or have prior experience playing on a golf course. Beginners who have experience playing other sports and are interested in trying golf are encouraged to select the half-day program. The goal of the Golf Academy is for all participants to feel comfortable at their individual skill level.
  • Surf Camp | Grades 5-8 | June 5-8

    Surf Camp will be offered at our Long Sands Beach surf shop in York. Campers will be provided with all surf equipment, including a wetsuit. Surf Camp will include the following activities: surfing, boogie boarding, body surfing/swimming. Stand Up Paddling availability will be assessed by instructors based on daily conditions. Spots are limited so don’t miss out on registering early. Drop off/pick up is at Liquid Dreams Surf Shop in York.

    What to Wear
    Please dress in comfortable clothes that allow for yoga-based movement. Add shorts under skirts or dresses. Layers are helpful for changes in temperature. Make sure that you wear good walking shoes or sneakers. We will be playing active games and may spend time outside in the courtyard.
  • Red Alert Skateboarding | Grades 3-9 | July 5-7

    Red Alert Skateshop offers an introduction to skateboarding program. Using our proven instruction method, the goal is to have participants skateboard in a controlled manner from point A to B by the end of our time together. Participants are encouraged to bring closed toed shoes, a water bottle, and snacks. Participants should bring their own skateboard, helmet, and pads. However, we will have some skateboards for some participants to use.

  • Berwick Biking Adventures | Grades 5-9 | July 10-13

    Looking to ride mountain bikes with friends this summer and learn some new skills on the trails? Mountain bike camp is the place for you. Join Berwick Biking Adventures at Stratham Hill Park for a fun-filled four mornings of riding bikes. We will be building skills on single-track trails, improving our technical riding over roots, rocks, and bridges, and maybe even getting a little air time. All riders must be willing and capable to ride their bike for two to three hours (with many breaks in between). All riders must have their own working mountain bike, properly fitting helmet, water, and any snack they may want during their session. This is a one-session camp. Each day we will ride the trail systems at Stratham Park. The rides will be a NO DROP, meaning we will stop and wait for the group to catch up at each trail intersection.

  • Bulldog Hoops Camp | Grades 2-9 | July 24-28

    The camp will be directed and led by the Berwick Academy varsity basketball coaches and assisted by an exciting group of varsity players. Campers will spend the week learning and refining foundational and advanced basketball skills/actions and leave with a better understanding of “how” to practice individually. We will be utilizing a mix of challenging drills, fun games, and half-court/full-court gameplay. We will discuss themes like growth mindset and goal setting, and develop resilience through learning and growing within our sport. This camp is a must for basketball enthusiasts or any player looking to hone their skills in the off-season and  learn more about the game.

  • Take the Tiller at KPYC Sailing School | Grades 5-8 | Aug. 21-24

    Kittery Point Yacht Club’s Sailing School is offering a special four-day summer camp! Interested youth will be transported via motorboat from KPYC to a large float in the Portsmouth back channel to learn the ins and outs of sailing. This program is designed for youth who are ready to learn and practice fundamental sailing skills while gaining greater confidence skippering Vanguard 420s. Kids will be taught in sailing school boats with two to three per boat depending on skill level. The goal is to teach each sailor how to confidently control the tiller and sail simultaneously in order to handle the boats independently. Youth will learn sailing nomenclature, knot tying, boat rigging, boat handling, wind direction, water safety, and boat maintenance. Drop off/pick up will be at KPYC.

    All campers must pass a swim test to be held on the first day.  Each camper must bring a Coast Guard approved Type III life jacket (vest style).

    In this edition of Berwick’s RC Adventure Workshop, participants will master the control of a ready-to-run 1/10 scale radio-controlled rock crawler (Redcat Everest-10), upgrade its handling with four-wheel steering and improved shocks/tires, and participate in the construction and testing of an epic crawler competition course. Campers will get to keep their RC cars.

  • Let's Build Rube Goldberg Machines! | Grades 2-9 | July 5-7

    The best thing a child can learn is that failure is part of life—you may not always get things the first time. It takes perseverance, patience, and effort. I teach the kids that we can learn from failure—we learn by trying again, we learn from each other, and we learn the importance of teamwork. Kids will learn who Rube Goldberg was and build, create, and design their own Rube Goldberg machines. This camp is all about engagement, problem-solving skills, and project-based learning. Kids will use blocks, dominos, cups, Bee-Bot robots, marble runs/tracks, magnets, KIBO robots, bouncy balls, make space materials, and much more. Come join me for hands-on building fun!

Let us provide supervision and playtime until 1 p.m. If your child is attending an afternoon session, we’ll make sure they get where they need to go. You pack the lunch, we bring the fun! You are also welcome to pick up your child in between camps for lunch and return for the afternoon session.

    Berwick Academy Summer on the Hilltop now offers convenient round-trip transportation throughout the Seacoast of New Hampshire and Maine. This service provides families with a convenient and reliable option when making plans for the summer. We recognize that putting your child on a bus requires a great deal of trust. When choosing to utilize our transportation service, you can be confident that we put your child’s safety first. Summer busing is open to campers age 5+. Please provide your own booster seat if needed. Before Care and After Care is not needed when using the busing service.

    In this edition of Berwick’s RC Adventure Workshop, participants will master the control of a ready-to-run 1/10 scale radio-controlled rock crawler (Redcat Everest-10), upgrade its handling with four-wheel steering and improved shocks/tires, and participate in the construction and testing of an epic crawler competition course.     What to Wear
    Please dress in comfortable clothes that allow for yoga-based movement. Add shorts under skirts or dresses. Layers are helpful for changes in temperature. Make sure that you wear good walking shoes or sneakers. We will be playing active games and may spend time outside in the courtyard.
  • Eco Explorers | Grades 3-5 | June 12-16

    For our older crowd, this full-day camp will have campers out in the great New England wilderness. From the tiny insects to the mighty oak tree, we are going to explore it all. Campers will get the chance to nature journal all their discoveries and at the end of the week we will take a guided hike to the summit of Mt. Agamenticus. Drop off/pick up will be at the Center for Wildlife.

  • Adventures in Photography | Grades 6-9 | June 20-23 & July 31-Aug. 4

    Don’t miss this week of photo adventures! Each day we’ll travel to one or more destinations to explore and photograph a variety of subjects, from woods and seacoast to small towns and cities. Each day will have themes and objectives that push you to expand your style and compositional skills. You’ll experiment with the manual photography settings on your phones and on personal digital cameras. You’ll leave with a handful of printed photographs and an option to frame your best work. Please note that this program uses Berwick Academy vehicles daily and will travel rain or shine. Students should bring: Phone/digital camera, lots of snacks, lunch, water bottle, comfortable shoes (as we’ll be walking all day), and rain jackets (if necessary).

    At this camp, youth can bring their creative ideas to fruition in a fun, collaborative, and exciting environment. Campers will learn skills in scriptwriting, storyboard sketching, character development, improvisation, and camera skills. Together, the group will write, shoot, and edit a film in a genre of their choosing. Youth will learn to edit their films using professional editing software like Adobe Premiere. All final projects are eligible for submission to the Boston International Kids Film Festival in November 2023. There will be a screening on Friday afternoon for friends and family!

  • Horsemanship Camp at Great Heights Stable | Grades 3-8 | Multiple Weeks

    Spend a week learning about horses—from safe handling skills, leading, and grooming to playing, caring for, and training. This is a hands-on, highly engaging activity-based camp that focuses on horses’ senses and behavior. Every day we will do tons of playing with the horses, pony, and donkeys as we learn how to enrich their lives and ensure their health. Campers wear close-toed shoes, long pants/leggings, and any other appropriate layers to accommodate the different weather and bugs we get on a Maine farm. Drop off and pick up is at Great Heights Stable in Berwick. This camp will be instructed by the Great Heights Stable staff and is available for Grades 3-8.

    Red Alert Skateshop offers an introduction to skateboarding program. Using our proven instruction method, the goal is to have participants skateboard in a controlled manner from point A to B by the end of our time together.   • Let's Build Rube Goldberg Machines! | Grades 2-9 | July 5-7

    The best thing a child can learn is that failure is part of life—you may not always get things the first time. It takes perseverance, patience, and effort. I teach the kids that we can learn from failure—we learn by trying again, we learn from each other, and we learn the importance of teamwork. Kids will learn who Rube Goldberg was and build, create, and design their own Rube Goldberg machines. This camp is all about engagement, problem-solving skills, and project-based learning. Kids will use blocks, dominos, cups, Bee-Bot robots, marble runs/tracks, magnets, KIBO robots, bouncy balls, make space materials, and much more. Come join me for hands-on building fun!

  • Berwick Biking Adventures | Grades 5-9 | July 10-13

    Looking to ride mountain bikes with friends this summer and learn some new skills on the trails? Mountain bike camp is the place for you. Join Berwick Biking Adventures at Stratham Hill Park for a fun-filled four mornings of riding bikes. We will be building skills on single-track trails, improving our technical riding over roots, rocks, and bridges, and maybe even getting a little air time. All riders must be willing and capable to ride their bike for two to three hours (with many breaks in between). All riders must have their own working mountain bike, properly fitting helmet, water, and any snack they may want during their session. This is a one-session camp. Each day we will ride the trail systems at Stratham Park. The rides will be a NO DROP, meaning we will stop and wait for the group to catch up at each trail intersection.

    This camp will be focusing on learning five basic topics about the Chinese language and culture.   • Take the Tiller at KPYC Sailing School | Grades 5-8 | Aug. 21-24

    Kittery Point Yacht Club’s Sailing School is offering a special four-day summer camp! Interested youth will be transported via motorboat from KPYC to a large float in the Portsmouth back channel to learn the ins and outs of sailing. This program is designed for youth who are ready to learn and practice fundamental sailing skills while gaining greater confidence skippering Vanguard 420s. Kids will be taught in sailing school boats with two to three per boat depending on skill level. The goal is to teach each sailor how to confidently control the tiller and sail simultaneously in order to handle the boats independently. Youth will learn sailing nomenclature, knot tying, boat rigging, boat handling, wind direction, water safety, and boat maintenance. Drop off/pick up will be at KPYC.

    All campers must pass a swim test to be held on the first day.  Each camper must bring a Coast Guard approved Type III life jacket (vest style).
