It took the Bulldogs most of the first half of the game and several attempts to get a number on the scoreboard, but once they did, they were on a roll and they filled the second half with lots of exciting plays. The Bulldogs are currently 3-0-0 on the season.
In the 35th minute, Carly Shumway ‘29 (Wells, ME) carried the ball up the center of the field, dribbling past opponents, and scored off an assist from senior and Co-Captain Tatum Sloper ‘27 (Scarborough, ME).
With two minutes on the clock in the first half, off an assist from Shumway, Sophia DeSimone ‘28 (Dover, NH) had a breakaway and shot a perfectly placed goal in the bottom corner of the net.
Starting strong in the first minute of the second half, DeSimone received a pass from Sloper, and then dribbled the ball up the right side of the field, got inside the box, and expertly tapped it into the goal.
Only four minutes later, Shumway shot and scored off an assist from DeSimone, rounding out the game and giving the Bulldogs what turned out to be a 4-0 result.
The Bulldogs will travel to Kents Hill School this coming week and will play another home match against The Winsor School next weekend. Go Bulldogs!
