On Wednesday, September 30, the Bulldogs beat the Lexington Christian Academy Lions 4-0 at Berwick Academy. The Bulldogs are now 5-0-0 on the season.
The first opportunity for the Bulldogs came when Sophia DeSimone ’28 (Dover, NH) took a shot that hit the cross bar just five minutes into the match.
One minute later, Senior Liv Pate (Exeter, NH) passed the ball to DeSimone who passed to Phoebe Yaris ‘29 (Raymond, NH). Yaris then broke through the LCA defense, stayed on her feet and tucked the ball into the back of the net, securing the first goal of the game.
In the 26th minute, DeSimone received a pass from Griffin Demers ‘28 (Rochester, NH) and took a shot. The LCA goalie tried to catch the shot but it was too powerful and slipped through her hands, securing the Bulldogs’ second goal.
At the 44- minute mark, off an assist from Senior Co-Captain Tatum Sloper (Scarborough, ME), Carly Shumway ‘29 (Wells, ME) carried the ball all the way up the field to the penalty box, shot and scored.
Then, in the 68th minute, Sloper volleyed the ball up and over her head, placing it high at the back of the net.
The Bulldogs will play Beaver Country Day School at the end of the week. Go Bulldogs!
