Berwick Loses Homeopener to Pingree

Berwick dropped their homeopener to Pingree on Friday, 9-1.  Despite battling hard for all three periods, Pingree's scoring prowess dominated the game.  Mila Santos' (Jr) unassisted goal in the second period foiled Pingree's shutout.  Anna Foster (Fr) showed amazing courage as our first volunteer goalkeeper.  She faced a barrage of shots, and turned away many of them.  One referee told us "if the smiles on the girls' faces and positive chatter on the bench are any indication, we are going to have a great season!"  Berwick hosts Portland Co-op this coming Friday.
