A Note from the President:
Welcome to the 2016-17 school year! We are poised for an exciting time here on the hilltop as we celebrate Berwick’s 225th year and the opening of our Inspiration Commons.
The Berwick Parent Community (BPC) is our parent-governed organization here on campus, representing all families with children from Pre-K through Grade 12. Our objective is to support and enhance the education of all Berwick’s students through communication, connection, and fundraising.
In an effort to bring people together, we host coffee gatherings on campus and evening socials off campus; we bring outside speakers to the school in areas of interest to our community; and we sponsor an array of student activities and events including ice cream socials, coffeehouses and off-campus trips. We support our faculty and staff through the BPC Grant Program, which provides items ranging from musical instruments and speakers to robotics and innovative classroom technology.
The BPC funds all its own programming through three major fundraising events during the year. We will hold our 26th annual Golf Classic at the York Golf and Tennis Club in September. Just after March break, we host a two-week on-line auction featuring original artwork, unique experiences and even an opportunity for one lucky student to be head of school for a day. This year our Benefit Dinner will be held April 22 at the Sheraton Hotel in Portsmouth and will feature dinner, dancing and a live auction.
We encourage you to become an active member of the BPC, to get involved and get connected. Please join us on Tuesday, October 18 in the Commons Lounge for our BPC General Meeting and coffee to find out more about what we are up to and how you can get connected to the efforts and events that interest you most. Don’t forget that you can always reach out to members of the BPC board as well as your division and classroom representatives with questions.
