Science | Susan Morris

My name is Susan Morris and I teach science to 6th, 4th and 3rd grades. I love the outdoors and spend as much time outside as possible with my lab Maddie.
Why do you enjoy teaching science?
Science has always been my passion. There is always a new question or discovery so facilitating students to make their own discoveries or explore their own questions makes teaching so exciting.
How do you define great teaching?
A inquiry based, student centered classroom where students ask and research their own questions. Student investment enriches their learning. Inquiry based learning encourages problem solving through hands exploration and design.
Describe your classroom in five words. Discussion, Exploration, Designing, Engineering, Problem-solving
What do you like best about the Lower School?
I love the freedom to explore with students and the flexibility of the teachers. It is a warm and welcoming community.
