Extracurriculars and Clubs

After school activities are robust in the Middle School. Students have the chance to participate in many exciting pursuits.
Community, Leadership, and Unity at Berwick (C.L.U.B.): This group aims to be a safe and inclusive environment that encourages members to become active and positive voices within our community. They examine historic and current events in an effort to have conversations that enhance a more complete understanding of the changing world.

Coffeehouses: Coffeehouses are a casual time for students to perform through music, dance, comedy, or poetry for one another. All levels of talent are encouraged and supported.

Dances and Socials:
Some of our most anticipated events include our fifth and sixth grade socials which occur off campus at the Hilltop Fun Center and Dover Bowl, and seventh and eighth grade dances, which take place on campus.

Lego Robotics:
The Robotics club brings students interested in coding, design, and building together, giving them opportunity to collaborate on a problem as they search for innovative solutions. The club participates in the Maine First Lego League Mindstorms Competition with two traveling teams that compete in November and December if they qualify.

Math team: Math team members collaborate with their peers to explore new mathematical concepts and to solve complex problems. Each grade level has their own team that practices once a week throughout the year to help prepare for their three statewide competitions.

Middle School Musical:The musical production is one of the highlights of the year. Recent performances include: Annie, Once on This Island, Charlie Brown, The Wizard of Oz, Pirates of Penzance, and High School Musical Jr. All students are encouraged to take part in this experience, either on stage or backstage, working on wardrobe, tech, publicity, set design, and scenery.
