Kim Kryder, Middle and Upper School Counselor

When did you join the BA community?
Fall 2011

In what capacity do you interact with students?
School Counselor: Grades 6-12;
Teacher: 5th Grade Wellness & 9th Grade Freshmen Foundations;
Coach: JV Field Hockey & Girls Golf

Why did you choose BA?
I always knew I wanted to work at a PK-12 school.  I had attended a similar school to Berwick from Kindergarten through 12th grade and I attribute much of who I am to that experience.  Being able to grow and learn within a supportive community of teachers, coaches and mentors through 12+ years of education is a wonderful opportunity and I wanted to be a part of that again.  I also knew as soon as I met faculty and staff that I had found a community of professionals who really love their jobs and were striving to be better every day.

What is your favorite thing about BA?
All the opportunities that allow students to shine, whether it's on the athletic field, the stage or in the classroom, students are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and take risks.

What is one thing you think prospective families should know when considering BA?
That Berwick is much more than just a school, it is an experience.
