Bulldogs win second game of the season
Under a bright blue sky, the Berwick Girls Varsity Soccer team traveled to Gould Academy, controlled the game’s tempo, and returned home with their second shutout of the season, making their record to 2-0-0.
After Sophia DeSimone ‘28 (Dover, NH) got dragged down in the box, she earned a penalty kick and converted the spot kick for the 1-0 lead.

In the 35th minute, Carly Shumway ‘29 (Wells, ME) played a strong through ball to Griffin Demers ‘28 (Rochester, NH) who crossed the ball to Phoebe Yaris ‘29 (Raymond, NH) who tapped it in the goal.
In the 38th minute, the Bulldogs had another opportunity when Demers ripped one off the crossbar.
Early in the second half of the game, after a pass from Shumway, Demers carried the ball up the left side of the field and rifled it into the bottom right  corner with her left foot.

The Bulldogs continued to battle and possess the ball mostly in their attacking half.
With 5 seconds left on the clock, goal keeper Julia Brennan ‘28 (Exeter, NH) made an initial breakaway save followed by a point blank save to keep The Huskies off the scoreboard.
The Girls team hopes to keep up their winning streak as they travel to Bancroft next for a battle of the Bulldogs.
