On Wednesday, October 14, the Bulldogs travelled to Holderness and added one more win to their record, beating the Bulls 1-0. They played first under cloudy skies and the last bit of daylight and then under the lights on the Holderness turf. The Bulldogs are now 8-1-0 on the season.
Three minutes into the match, Sophia DeSimone ‘28 (Dover, NH) made a strong shot that hit the crossbar, starting the Bulldogs off on a strong note.
The rest of the game was a constant series of battles between the Bulldogs and the Bulls, and while the Bulldogs were able to leave victorious, the game was not without its challenges; the Bulldogs expended great effort and energy, giving it their all as a team.
DeSimone then scored the game-winning goal off a free kick 19 minutes into the game. The ball had too much pace for the diving Holderness keeper, and DeSimone was able to find the top corner of the net.
Throughout the game, Goalkeeper Julia Brennan ‘28 (Exeter, NH) had some great moments in net. Halfway through the second half, Brennan made a standing save and then immediately made a diving save off a second Holderness rebound shot, keeping the game a shut-out for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs hope to finish the week in a strong fashion with a match at home against Newton Country Day School on Friday, Oct. 16. Go Bulldogs!
