On Friday, October 9, the Berwick Bulldogs took on the Huskies from Gould Academy and beat them 4-0 at home. On this perfect fall day, the Bulldogs played hard, and redeemed themselves with a shut-out after their first loss earlier in the week. The Bulldogs are now 7-1-0 on the season.

Carly Shumway ‘29 (Wells, ME) scored a hat trick in the match. Her first goal came two minutes into the game. The Bulldogs got off to a great start with this first goal from Shumway off a cross from Senior Tatum Sloper ‘27.

In the 5th minute, Campbell McKee ‘28 (Brentwood, NH) came close when she made a strong shot that hit the crossbar, sending the message to the Gould team that the Bulldogs were serious and ready to play.

At the 24th minute mark, Shumway dribbled the ball up the field and into the box, shot and scored. Then, just four minutes later, she carried the ball up and shot the ball into the back of the net again.

At minute 31, Sophia DeSimone ‘28 (Dover, NH) blasted the ball at the goal, the Gould goalie deflected it and Bulldog Phoebe Yaris ‘29 (Raymond, NH) capitalized on the rebound and tucked the ball in the net.

The Bulldogs have a big week next week as they take on Holderness and Newton Country Day School. Go Bulldogs!
