Berwick Topples Governors

The Bulldogs played some spirited lacrosse Friday afternoon, notching their first victory of the season over a solid squad from the Governor's Academy in Byfield, MA.  The game was close for the first three quarters with Berwick opening up a few two-goal leads only to have the Govs claw their way back to even.  Despite a depleted bench the Bulldogs were the stronger side in the fourth, scoring the final three goals while holding their opponents at bay.

Grant Quinn made some key saves and continued to hone his craft in other areas, aggressively taking on shooters and using clearing passes to initiate offensive chances.  In the absence of an ailing Jack Dunbar Ben Joslin took over the role of crease defender and held the Gov's top attackman to only two goals.  Jack McGowan, Chris Eno, and Quinn Santos contributed to the defensive effort.

In the offensive half attackmen Jackson Sidford (5 goals), Ben Davis (2 goals, 3 assists), and Tucker Smith (3 goals) led the way, with Jack Merecki (1 goal, 3 assists) and Zach Trotsky (2 assists) chipping in.  Middies Zhong Huang, Max Freund, and Liam Cannon played tirelessly for four quarters.
