Berwick scored early and often vs Pingree, led by Greg Stohrer (2 goals), Ryan Gaulin (2), and Derek Muse (2).
SOUTH HAMILTON, MA -Ryan Gaulin (Kingston, NH) went end to end on the second shift of the game to put the Bulldogs ahead. Assists went to Tanner Derby (Newburyport, MA) and Chris Dowd (Danville, NH). Five minutes later, it was Greg Stohrer (Dover, NH) who collected passes from Derek Muse (Kennebunk, ME) and Cole Shelgren (Dover, NH) and snuck one home from a very difficult angle. Berwick showed a commitment to sharing the puck throughout the Pingree zone and kept the pressure on for the majority of the period, led by the line of Byron Welch (Henniker, NH), Jack Merecki (Stratham, NH), and Dowd. Pingree got on the board with 90 seconds left in the first, only to be answered by Berwick 20 seconds later. Jack Williams (Biddeford, ME) drew a tripping penalty, and on the ensuing powerplay he collected a pass from Stohrer and dished to Muse at the top circle who beat the goalie low stick for his first of the year.
Despite some chippy play by Pingree, Berwick stayed disciplined and ultimately cashed in on four of their five powerplays. Jackson Sidford (Newburyport, MA) scored a PP goal from Merecki and Tanner Derby. Then it was Muse who again scored a PP goal on assists from Williams and Stohrer, this time with Stohrer making a backhand pass cross crease to Muse who one-timed it home. To finish the period, Ryan Gaulin scored his third of the season on assists from Tanner Derby and Sidford.
Both teams scored once in the third, the Berwick goal off the stick of Greg Stohrer (assists going to Sidford and Ryan Gaulin). Berwick looks to keep the train rolling this Friday away at Kents Hill.
