Berwick ties Pingree

The Berwick Academy Boys Varsity Soccer team tied Pingree 1-1 on Saturday, in a hard fought contest from start to finish.  Berwick went down early on a set piece from Pingree that was well executed but not well defended, and clawed their way back into the game for the rest of the afternoon.  Pingree did well to repel any and all attacks that came their way, and finally Berwick’s perseverance paid off.  Ollie Van Campen took a beautiful through ball from captain Tyler Hall that sent Van Campen in alone to the box.  The Pingree netminder came out to confront Van Campen, who displayed incredible patience in letting the keeper make the first move and then drilling the tying goal past the keeper.  The game remained tense for the rest of the afternoon, and both teams played well.

Berwick is 2-0-1 on the season and plays Landmark in Beverly, Massachusetts, on Wednesday.
