Home Away From Home: Berwick Academy’s Girls Residential Program Set to Launch in 2027

Berwick Academy is excited to announce the launch of a Girls Residential Program beginning in the 2027-28 school year, creating new opportunities for students to thrive in a supportive, enriching, and diverse environment.
When Berwick brought back its residential program in 2018 with the purchase of the John Hancock House at 15 Academy Street, the decision was made to start first with a boys program, with the intention of expanding to girls as the market grew. We are excited to fulfill this promise starting in the fall of 2027.

The Oakes House building currently holding the school’s business office and nurses station will be converted over the next year to a dormitory. Grounded in Berwick’s historic roots, and intimate nature of our boarding program as it is today, Oakes House will serve as an expansion to a program that has brought outstanding students from diverse and impactful backgrounds to the Hilltop.

With dedicated faculty houseparents and a curriculum focused on independence and mutual respect, the residential program ensures that our boarders are fully immersed in our community and supported as they navigate their academic journeys and build lifelong global friendships.
