Taking Center Stage: Patricia Baldwin Whipple Arts Center Refresh Begins

This summer, work focused on modernizing core technology and public spaces. The theater’s sound system was upgraded and engineered to make sure all voices can be enjoyed clearly from every seat. Restrooms saw a complete rebuild, including new flooring, lighting, partitions, vanities, and fixtures, allowing them to become fully ADA compliant. Art studios also received refreshed amenities, including new sinks for student artists to utilize. Externally, the building received a fresh coat of paint and a brand-new roof to welcome students back next week.

The momentum continues into the upcoming school year. Over winter break, the Arts Center lobby will receive a "glow-up" featuring fresh paint, new flooring, and updated lighting—creating a more welcoming environment that reflects the vibrancy and growth of Berwick’s arts program.

Looking ahead to next summer, the final phase of the project will transform the area behind the stage into a dedicated green room, giving performers and student crews a comfortable, functional space to prepare for performances and events. Together, these enhancements ensure that every school event and theatrical production is executed seamlessly and professionally for years to come.
