On Wednesday, October 7, the Bulldogs suffered the first loss of their season against the Dana Hall Dragons. The Bulldogs gave it their all throughout the match despite the 1-0 loss.
The Bulldogs are now 6-1-0 on the season.

Ten minutes in, the Dragons scored with a close shot after a brief scramble in the box. In the 12th minute, the Bulldogs had their first chance at a goal when Griffin Demers ‘28 (Rochester, NH) made a solid cross to Sophia DeSimone ‘28 (Dover, NH) who headed the ball just outside the net.

The Bulldogs had a few more chances throughout the game, such as in the 32nd minute when  Carly Shumway ‘29 (Wells, ME) carried the ball, beat a few Dana defenders and took a strong shot but the Dana goalie stopped it. Shumway persisted with a few more shots on goal throughout the game. The Bulldogs couldn’t quite capitalize on these chances this game, but hope to in their next game at the end of the week.

The Bulldogs played a strong defensive game, keeping the Dragons from scoring more than one goal. Seniors Liv Pate ‘27 (Exeter, NH) and  Emma Rich ‘27 (Dover, NH) saved the team several times with their strong and consistent defensive play. The whole team played with energy.

With five minutes on the clock, goal keeper Charlotte Loughlin ‘30 (Wells, ME) made a great save, diving and smothering the ball.

The Bulldogs plan to bounce back on Friday in their match against Gould Academy at home. Go Bulldogs!
