Eastern Independent League Champions!

The Berwick Academy Bulldogs are Eastern Independent League Champions for the second year in a row.  While Berwick went into the championship as the top seed, #2 Pingree fought every inch of the way.  Pingree did a terrific job tying up our first line for most of game, but the second line stepped up and built a 4-1 lead by the middle of the third period.  Pingree battled back with three unanswered goals and put the game into overtime.  The momentum shifted back to Berwick in overtime forcing Pingree to call a time out.  Berwick seized the opportunity to make some key line changes.  At the drop of the puck, Shannon Farrrell moved the puck to Anna Wright who muscled her way through three Pingree players and buried the puck for the game winner.  The goal gave Anna her 97th varsity career point.  Box Score:  Anna Wright 2G, Gabby Wiggin 2G, Sarah Marino-Babcock 1G, Tatiana Bradley 3A, Jenny Scharff 2A.  Jenn Auty had 30 saves in net.
